The President of Mali has recognized the work of WaterAid's Country Representative in Mali, Fatoumata Haidara, by awarding her with a  Chevalier de L’Ordre National - a prestigious national honor.

The award, which was given to Ms. Haidara on January 19 after a successful third Local Millennium Development Goals Initiative conference in Mali, notes WaterAid's contribution to the water and sanitation sector in improving access to water, sanitation and improved hygiene for poor and marginalized citizens.

This award will also contribute to WaterAid's growing credibility in the sector.
