WASH working group
WaterAid led the development of a coalition of US-based NGOs, called the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Working Group. The coalition advocates for improvements in US Government policy and practice in expanding access to water and sanitation worldwide.
The working group is housed at InterAction, the largest coalition of US-based NGOs working in international development, environment and humanitarian assistance.
WaterAid serves as the co-chair, steering the agenda and activities of the group. In our leadership role in this coalition, WaterAid provides strategic oversight and guidance on priorities of the group, as well as contributing to decisions regarding technical direction, events, and activities.
The working group is a forum for collaboration on policy research and analysis, the development of common positions and messages, advocacy activities, and information sharing.
Bringing together a diverse set of organizations, including those focused on water, sanitation, health, and the environment, this working group brings a unique and powerful perspective to current policy and practice debates related to water, sanitation, and hygiene.
