Our approach

WaterAid first started working in West Africa in 1985. We now operate across seven countries in West Africa: Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

In May 2012, we opened our West Africa regional office in Dakar, Senegal. The team works to strengthen WaterAid’s impact and visibility at the regional level through building relationships with local governments and advocacy and development partners.

The office is also responsible for providing support, advice and guidance for all country programs in the region.
