On December 2, #GivingTuesday, Go Green Environmental Services treated the local community in Rocky Point, Long Island to live music from Lisa & the Leftovers, dinner and drinks to celebrate their new partnership with WaterAid. Go Green presented a check for $25,000 to WaterAid to launch their $100,000 commitment to the non-profit organization. Party attendees donated an additional $2,500.
Go Green Environmental Services is a family owned and operated business dedicated to responsible wastewater management for over 25 years. They strongly believe in their duty and responsibility to protect not only the waters of Long Island from the hazards of liquid waste, but also the around the world by pledging $100,000 to WaterAid.
“Clean water and sanitation as a human right is something almost everyone in first world countries, from the richest to the poorest citizens, takes for granted. WaterAid’s mission of bringing awareness and clean water to those without access is exactly what we at Go Green Environmental Services wish to do – champion through our vision of protecting the future through responsible waste water management.” said Erin Hunt, Senior Vice President.
Worldwide, nearly 750 million people live without safe drinking water, while 2.5 billion have nowhere safe and clean to go to the toilet. The event represented Go Green Environmental Services' ongoing commitment to WaterAid, who the company pledged $100,000 to on World Toilet Day, November 19.
"As a company that strives to do the right thing for our customers, employees, and local community, it was only fitting to partner with an organization that cares about doing the right thing for our global community. Go Green Environmental Services LLC is proud to contribute to bringing clean water and safe sanitation to the 2.5 billion worldwide without it through our partnership with WaterAid America,” Hunt said.
WaterAid’s Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships, Jennifer Colletti-Membreno said, "WaterAid America is proud to partner with a local New York based environmental services company like Go Green Environmental. This company has demonstrated the true meaning of partnership by not only making a significant pledge, but by helping to raise awareness of the water and sanitation crisis.”
Over the next 12 months and beyond, Go Green Environmental Services LLC plans to continue its efforts to increase awareness and raise money for WaterAid and other environmental causes.
Terence Daly, VP of sales and marketing for Go Green Environmental Services asks the community to support this financial commitment by making a donation online here. Each donation will be matched by Go Green Environmental Services up to $100,000.
