Personal fundraising pages
WaterAid America has teamed up with First Giving to offer you the opportunity to easily build your own Online Fundraising Page to collect donations.
- It's easy - no cash or checks to chase
- It's safe - the money is sent securely to WaterAid via FirstGiving
Setting up a personal fundraising page is a great way for you to track progress against your fundraising target. The target is clearly displayed on the page, and each donation is itemized. You can personalize the page with your own messages and photos. And your friends and family can even add personal messages of support alongside their donations.
Now we can repair the pumps in two hours. We can change the washers, the bearings, check the walls and the cylinder. This month we have repaired five handpumps.

There are many reasons to set up a personal fundraising page.
Sponsored events
Running a marathon? Taking part in a swimathon? Whatever your sponsored event is, the easiest way to collect your sponsorship money is by setting up an online fundraising page.
In lieu of wedding or birthday gifts
If you are getting married or have a big birthday coming up, the perfect way to celebrate is to ask for donations to help some of the world's poorest people, in lieu of gifts. Just send the link to your online fundraising page to all your celebration's guests.
In memory of a loved one
Setting up an online fundraising page means your family and friends can honor the memory of your loved one with a donation in lieu of flowers, or to mark the anniversary of their passing.
Local fundraising groups
If you are part of a group raising money for WaterAid, a personal fundraising page is a great way to keep track of all the donations in one place. Need some ideas? Read about Matthew Wormald's fundraising group A Drop in the Bucket - he raised money by giving up luxuries such as CDs and drinks after work.
WaterAid will use the money in our vital work enabling the world's poorest people to gain access to life's most basic needs: clean, safe water and effective sanitation. Every day 4,000 children die from water-related diseases. You can make a difference by setting up your page today. Remember, WaterAid's projects cost just $30 per head.
