Meet with Congressional offices on March 23 and let them know that we need greater US leadership on this crucial issue. Be a voice for the nearly 900 million people in the developing world who lack access to clean drinking water and the 2.5 billion who lack basic sanitation.

We will provide all the information and tools you need to be an effective advocate. Advocacy Day will begin with a training session at 9 a.m., with activities lasting until 5 p.m.

The Walk for Water

Come and join 'Team Z' on Saturday April 17, as we walk 2.4 miles and carry 10 liters of water (adult) and four liters of water (child).

WHY WALK? In many countries children, particularly girls, are responsible for the collection of water. Girls as young as 10 years old may take the main responsibility for drawing and carrying the family's water. On this day we will be walking in an effort to help the world's poorest people gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. Water, sanitation and hygiene are the essential foundations to all other forms of development and are vital for poverty reduction.

The Walk for Water begins at 11:00 am at Huizenga Park in Zeeland MI on Saturday, April 17, 2010. The walking course: 1.2 miles east to gather 10 or four liters of water and then carry that water back to the starting point.

For more information and contact details visit Team Z's FirstGiving fundraising page.

Location:
Huizenga Park, Zeeland MI
