Are you celebrating an occasion? An anniversary, birthday, wedding, new home, religious holiday or retirement?

Would you like your special occasion to be celebrated by even more people?

If so, why not celebrate by asking your friends and family to donate to WaterAid America, instead of giving presents?

A simple way of letting people know more about the cause, and keeping a record of all the donations, is to set up an online personal fundraising page.

It costs just $25 for WaterAid to provide one person with safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

Here are some examples of how your guests' donations could be used by WaterAid:

• $45 could pay for tools needed to construct a hand-dug well in Ghana
• $100 could pay for a ventilated improved pit latrine used by a household of six people in Tanzania
• $200 could pay for a handpump to serve 10 households in Nepal
• $1,000 could buy a deep tubewell in a coastal area which will tap pure non-saline water and serve 25 families in Bangladesh
