This year will be the second annual Moon Jogger World Toilet Day Virtual 5K. In 2015, the inaugural event raised $8,700 for WaterAid programs, and they want raise nearly double in 2016!

You can participate, too! By being a virtual event, this 5K will have runners and walkers from all over the world.
We asked Moon Jogger president, Angie Webb, about what drives her fundraising spirit.
How will you be celebrating World Toilet Day this year?
I will be celebrating by running our World Toilet Day 5K! It's our second annual run and I'm excited to participate!
What was the inspiration for your event and what do you hope people will take from it?
We were looking for charities that we wanted to donate to and came across WaterAid. As we looked into it and saw all of the good that you are doing, we decided it was a charity we'd like to support. Then, we saw that there was a Toilet Day and we knew that we had to host a Toilet Day 5K! We are hoping that, as people participate, they will recognize what WaterAid does and gain at least a little bit of education on the fact that there are so many people around the world without access to clean water. It's definitely something we take for granted.
Any advice for people looking to make a difference this World Toilet Day?
Get out and participate in an activity to help raise awareness. Post things on social media that will help raise awareness and education on the need for clean water. Donate to WaterAid. Create a fun event or fundraiser.
