Mandy Folse to join as Head of Policy & Advocacy

WaterAid America is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Mandy Folse as Head of Policy & Advocacy.

Ms. Folse formerly served as Deputy Director of Policy & Advocacy at Save the Children (USA), on the staff of United States Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA), advising on international development issues, and as a senior policy advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana.

While at Save the Children (USA), Ms. Folse helped to develop the organization's first comprehensive policy and advocacy strategy, working closely with many of the organization's over 50 country offices and 27 other members of Save the Children's international alliance.

Her portfolio included a variety of development issues, ranging from food security, HIV/AIDS, and education to microenterprise, informed by lessons learned from Save the Children's in-country program experience.

She was one of the lead international advocacy staff on Save the Children’s Rewrite the Future education campaign, participating in cross-member working groups to develop policy papers and to plan and execute cross-member, cross-regional advocacy strategies.

Ms. Folse's passion for international development issues, knowledge of US government programs, agencies, and processes, as well as her success working within a large international non-government organization alliance structure will add immensely to our capacity to shape US Government policy and contribute to WaterAid's new global influencing agenda.
