International Water Forum at the United Nations Will Address Water Crisis
Leading Experts from the Public and Private Sectors to Call for a Shared Global Agenda for Sustainability in the Face of an Evolving Global Water Crisis.

Nations General Assembly,
The International Water Forum at the United Nations
will convene world leaders, academics, non-government organizations, private
sector representatives, and the UN General Assembly to take the first step
towards organizing a worldwide education and awareness campaign to address the
global water crisis.
The historic day-long event will feature in-depth discussions on potential
solutions to the myriad water issues facing developed and developing countries
alike, and feature presentations by notable leaders from a variety of sectors,
including Ben Grumbles, President Clean Water America Alliance and Former EPA
Administrator; Katherine Bliss, Ph.D., Senior Fellow and Director, Project on
Global Water Policy, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS);
Jean-Claude Seropian, Director of Operations and Maintenance, Suez
Environnement; Dave Johnson, Director of Corporate Marketing at Rain Bird Corp., David Winder, Ph.D., CEO of WaterAid, America
and numerous other experts from a broad array of fields and industries.
The overall objective of the forum is to establish water as a critical focus of the UN delegates’ attention while educating the general public about the severity of water shortages, climate change and drought.

Patricia Mulroy, General Manager of the Southern Nevada Water Authority
(SNWA) will deliver a keynote address and actress/activist Jane Seymour will
present a short film summarizing the crippling effects of the world’s water
crisis.
Each of the presenters will articulate the necessity of, and help lay the
foundation for, a global education and awareness campaign.
Organized by the Energy and Water Institute of New York and the Chronicles
Group, Inc., in cooperation with the United Nations Institute of Training and
Research (UNITAR), the World Water Organization (WWO) and WaterAid, The
International Water Forum at the United Nations is a coordinated effort to raise
public awareness and spur meaningful reaction around the globe in the form of
action plans, policies, creative media and ultimately solutions to an evolving
water crisis.

change and drought, global security and sustainable development will be a top
