Exhibition by National Geographic photographer to benefit WaterAid

Photographs taken by award winning photographer, Lynn Johnson, feature in an online exhibition to benefit WaterAid’s work.
These powerful images were featured in the April 2010 special water issue of
National Geographic
magazine and show how WaterAid’s work transforms people lives.
The exhibition entitled “Burden of Thirst” presents communities in the Oromia and Konso regions of Ethiopia that have reliable access to clean water for the first time in their lives thanks to WaterAid, along with dramatic images of women’s daily struggles to fetch water across barren landscapes in Kenya and Tanzania.
Meet the photographer - New York exhibition
The photographs will be on show at the Soho Gallery in New York, where you will be able to meet Lynn Johnson in person. She will give a first-hand account of her visit to Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia where she witnessed how the burden of water collection dominates women's lives.
We are committed to directing as much of our resources as possible towards helping those in need, therefore, we are delighted to partner with The Soho Gallery for Digital Art to present “The Burden of Thirst” exhibition digitally.
