Today WaterAid turns 30. Since our foundation on July 21, 1981 in response to the launch of the UN's Water Decade (1981-1990), WaterAid has reached more than 14 million people with safe water and more than nine million with sanitation.

Projects in Zambia and Sri Lanka became the first of many thousands to receive much needed support from WaterAid. We now work in 26 countries worldwide. The slideshow below captures a few of our many highlights.



By 2015, we aim to have helped 25 million more people directly through our work and 100 million more through our influencing work.
